About us
Eighteen years on rooftops
Luxsolaris was born in Barcelona in 2008 with a simple idea: the energy that falls on roofs every day should not go to waste. Today we are 850 people who design, install and maintain solar systems in Spain and Portugal.

01
How it started
Montserrat Vidal, an industrial engineer from Terrassa, and Rui Sampaio, an electrical engineer from Braga, met in 2006 on a PhD course on distributed generation that neither of them finished. Two years later they founded Luxsolaris in a ground-floor office in Poblenou with four colleagues.
Their first project was a 1.9 MWp plant in Alcarràs (Lleida), connected in September 2008. We still maintain it.

02
The hard years
Between 2010 and 2013, regulatory changes froze new plant construction in Spain. While other companies closed, we kept doing what worked: looking after what we had built. That unglamorous work is today our Maintenance and O&M division, with 742 MWp under care.
So as not to lay anyone off, between 2012 and 2017 our engineering team worked abroad: plants in the Atacama Desert (Chile), in Ouarzazate (Morocco) and a rural electrification project in Cape Verde. In 2018 we decided to come home and grow here.
03
The leap to rooftops
In 2019, with new self-consumption rules in Spain, we launched Luxsolaris Home. That year we installed 640 roofs. In 2025, 7,420.

Mission
To lead change in the way the world generates, stores and uses energy, integrating clean technologies, renewable energy and operational efficiency. Through responsible management of natural resources, we aim to maximise our positive impact on the planet and on the communities where we operate.

06
Vision
To be a benchmark in the transition to renewable energy, for a cleaner, more accessible and more efficient future for everyone.
07
Our values
Innovation. Improving the craft every day. The clay-tile mounting bracket designed in 2023 by Manuel Cortés, then a crew leader in Seville, almost halved mounting time. All our crews use it now.
Sustainability. A system should deliver what we promised for 25 years, not just on the day it's connected.
Collaboration. Sales, engineering, installation and customer care work from the same customer file. You never have to repeat your story.
Social commitment. 1% of our profit funds Sol Compartido: free installations for food banks, care homes and day centres. And every year we hire people from job-integration programmes as installation assistants.
08
Why an asterisk
Our symbol is an asterisk: a sun drawn with six strokes, and also the mark you put next to what matters. We like to think it means both.
For a future we all share
Shall we talk about your roof?
We call you back within one working day.
