Solar irrigation pumping · 380 kWp · 2023
A 410-hectare super-intensive olive and almond farm. Irrigation used 540,000 kWh a year, almost all of it in summer.
What we did. A 380 kWp ground-mounted plant next to the well and reservoir, with solar drives feeding the 150 kW pumps directly. The reservoir acts as a "battery": water is pumped by day and released by gravity when needed.
Results:
- 88% of pumping now runs on solar.
- Savings: €71,000/year. Payback: 3.9 years.
- Two diesel generators decommissioned.
